MY JANUARY FACE
Even though we’re already 6 days into February, I still wanted to post this as it’s one of my favorites to make. Better late than never right? Also, you may think that I’ve just come back from a relaxing holiday to some sort of sunny destination because I don’t look as pale as I normally do. Well, unfortunately I didn’t go on holiday, it’s called ‘Saturation’ up up up!
January has been a month of changes. My routine completely changed as I now work 4 days a week (fyi: I’m a teacher). I’m not graduated yet though, I go to uni every Friday. I’m writing this it’s Saturday morning, I’m about to head off to Amsterdam for a fun day of shopping and exploring with my friend. I wanted to get this up before I left the house. Since January has been so busy, I needed my makeup to be quick and easy. Here’s what I’ve been wearing almost every day in the first month of 2016…
You know I love my gold/bronze/orange eyeshadows as they go beautifully with my blue eyes. I try to switch my eyeshadow palettes every week or so, to make sure that I use all my products. My eyeshadow base of choice is the Maybelline Color Tattoo ‘Creamy Beige’, I’m about to run out of this stuff and I’m afraid we can’t get this particular shade in Holland. Anyway, since I have hooded eyes I never put eyeshadow IN my crease but just ABOVE my crease. Otherwise you’ll just create the illusion that your eyes lie even ‘deeper’, if that makes sense. I usually use my MAC 217 and my MAC eyeshadow ‘Charcoal Brown’ to darken everything up, just a tiny bit. Then the star of the show is NARS eyeshadow duo in ‘Alhambra’. I highlight my inner corners with the lightest shade and the golden shade I apply all over my lid. As a final step I take a fluffy (and clean!) blending brush and blend everything together, to make sure there are no harsh lines.
The final step to complete the look is to apply layers and layers of mascara. I have fallen back in love with Chanel Le Volume as I ran out of my Sephora Outrageous Curl ánd Catrice Lash Extension got discontinued. Jeeeeezzzz… Mascaras are like men, they’re hard to find and once you’ve found one that you like they will disappoint you in the end anyway. This is getting deep ha!
If I still have time I will apply some of the golden NARS eyeshadow underneath my eyes. I also really like to tightline and apply a thin layer of eyeliner with my MAC Fluidline ‘Blacktrack’, but again only if I have time.
Eyebrows & face:
–Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz & Dipbrow Pomade ‘Medium Brown’.
–NARS Sheer Glow Foundation ‘Gobi’, NARS Creamy Radiant concealer ‘Chantilly’ under my eyes, Catrice Camouflage Cream ‘010 Ivory’ on my chin (some spots/scars). Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder ‘Ethereal Light’. NARS ‘Laguna’ bronzer, MUA blush ‘Bubblegum’ and Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick ‘Beige’ to highlight my cheekbones.
How has your January been? I’ll hopefully be able to blog some more in February but work and school obviously come first. I’ll do my best!
