MAKEUP SPONGE VS. FOUNDATION BRUSH (REAL TECHNIQUES)
I’ve always been a foundation brush kind of girl. I’m a big fan of the RT Buffing Brush and the RT Expert Face Brush. I recently picked up the RT Miracle Complexion Sponge and today I’ll explain to you which one I prefer to apply my base makeup with. (Can you tell I like my Real Techniques?)
First of all, they’re both amazing for applying foundation and concealer. But if you prefer a slightly more natural finish then the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is the one you should go for. You just damp it, give it a couple of squeezes, it expands and it’s ready for use. I find that this sponge can even make my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer look natural and not as heavy as it would look with a brush. I use the flat side for my foundation and the point to apply concealer under my eyes.
I would definitely pick this sponge over my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Any day. Any time. I really regret only getting one because you do have to replace this orange baby every few months. I don’t know how it compares to the Beautyblender since I never tried it. All I know is that it couldn’t possibly be better… I guess?
There’s nothing wrong with the foundation brushes I mentioned but right now I just prefer using a sponge. It’s quicker and it’ll make your base look more natural. I didn’t know it was possible but I hold very strong feelings for the Miracle Complexion Sponge. Don’t judge.
