LONDON MAKEUP HAUL: SUPERDRUG & SELFRIDGES
O God, I bought a lot of makeup in London (and I even forgot to put some products in the pictures). I mainly went to Superdrug as they were doing 3 for 2. I also bought some beauties in Selfridges. Let’s have a closer look at what I bought!
I went a bit overboard on the face products, I must admit. I don’t know why I always do this as I’m super pale and most of the drugstore foundation/concealer shades never match my skin properly. However, in the UK they offer a wider variety of shades so I thought I’d give them a go. I bought: L’oreal True Match Foundation ‘N1’. I found out that I bought the very same color in New York 2 years ago, obviously it doesn’t match my skin. I’m honestly a bit annoyed with myself right now. Furthermore, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse ’04 Light Porcelain’, Maybelline The Eraser Eye Concealer ‘Light’, Sleek Cream Contour Kit ‘Light’ and Revolution Ultra Blush Palette ‘Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold’.
I already have enough eye products to last me a lifetime so there wasn’t a point in purchasing even more. However, I am weak and I wanted to treat myself. I bought: I Heart Makeup ‘Naked Chocolate’ Eyeshadow Palette, NARS Eyeshadow Duo ‘ST-Paul-De-Vence’, Max Factor MasterPieceMax and L’oreal Miss Hippie Mascara.
Boy, it was warm in London. My favorite Superdrug at Marble Arch (Oxford Street) was even warmer on the inside than it was outside. Normally I’d spend ages in Superdrug and Boots but the shopping experience just wasn’t that pleasant because of the heat. I didn’t properly swatch the lip products and bought them in the hopes of them being gorgeous. I bought: MAC Lipliner ‘Soar’, Rimmel Lipliner ‘Eastend Snob’, Revlon Lipstick ‘Sassy Mauve’, Revlon LipButter ‘Strawberry Shortcake’ and Topshop Lipstick ‘Devotion’.
When a beauty addict is in London, she has to check out the Barry M Nailpolishes. I prefer them over Rimmel’s. They’ve got every shade available you can dream of at a really sharp price. I bought: Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint ‘Butterscotch Sundae’, ‘Sugar Plum’, and ‘Rose Hip’. I will do a more in depth review on these nailpolishes in a couple of days.
Among these products are presents for my mother and sister. It would be selfish of me not to give some of this away. I’m hoping that the Maybelline foundation and concealer will match my skin. I will let you know in future posts. As for now I’m going to put all of this away in my drawers, take photos and write up reviews for you to read.
