3 x LIPLINERS
Using a lipliner always seemed like the most pointless thing to do, you’re going to apply a lipstick on top of it anyway? I’ve since discovered that you can -obviously- also wear them on their own. From literally none, I went to at least 10 lip liners. These 3 by Rimmel and MAC are the latest additions to my growing Lipliner Family.I never intended to buy Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner ‘101 You’re All Mine’, I intended to get another color but somehow I took this one home with me (ugh for messy drugstores). Bright Barbie pinks aren’t for me, but I still wanted to include it in this post as I can imagine some of you adore these kind of colors. As you can see it’s super opaque, it lasts quite a long time but (same goes for the next Rimmel lipliner), the product itself is extremely creamy which makes it super difficult to apply. It either breaks or you spend ages trying to apply it in a reasonable way. Once it’s on your lips it stays creamy and super sticky which makes it a nightmare to wear.
This is the color I initially wanted to buy; Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner ‘063 Eastend Snob’. I had hoped this wouldn’t be as creamy as the previous one but unfortunately.. The exact same things apply here. I have tried wearing it multiple times but it’s just SO. STICKY!!! It’s a pity because the color is absolutely stunning and totally what I’m into at the moment.
I had my eyes on MAC Lip Pencil ‘Soar’ for a very long time. I don’t know why I never got round to purchasing it. But I caved eventually at Heathrow Airport. The pencil is nowhere near as soft and creamy as the Rimmel ones, which is a good thing! This way you can actually precisely apply the product onto your lips without feeling like you’re overdrawing them. I didn’t think this color would show up so dark on me, but that’s obviously because of my pale skintone. I’m leaving this in my drawers until it’s properly fall so that I can wear it as a dark/brown/purple lip combined with just eyeliner and a lot of mascara.
There’s a huge difference in quality between Rimmel (drugstore) and MAC (high-end). There’s lots of times where drugstore products do just fine but this time you should definitely skip Rimmel and just invest in a slightly more expensive, but great quality, MAC lip pencil.
